Dr. Heather Carlile Carter is the Department Chair and Associate Professor of Interior Design at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in Architectural Studies from the University of Missouri and has more than three decades of experience in interior design practice and education.
Dr. Carlile Carter teaches courses in interior design studios, lighting, and building systems while helping students prepare for careers in the design industry or transfer to four-year programs. Her work emphasizes sustainability, health in the built environment, and the meaningful relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
