About me
Dr. Ceresa Schaffer serves as the Coordinator of Student Success for De Soto USD 232 and is currently in her 27th year in education. In her role, she leads several district initiatives focused on student success, career readiness, and postsecondary pathways. Her work includes oversight of external programming, the district’s internship and work-based learning programs, Excel in CTE, and partnerships with regional technical education providers including Eudora/De Soto Technical Education, Johnson County Community College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College.Dr. Schaffer coordinates Individual Plans of Study (IPS) implementation across the district, including IPS integration with Xello and career exploration experiences such as the DeBruce Agilities assessment. She also serves as the district’s AVID Director, Virtual Education Program Administrator, Summer School Administrator, and coordinator for secondary counselors and Section 504 services. Prior to her current role, she served as the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for USD 232.The focus of Dr. Schaffer’s current student-centered work is building strong relationships with community and industry partners while expanding opportunities for students through internships and meaningful college and career guidance. Through her leadership, USD 232 has expanded opportunities for students to engage in career exploration, internships, and technical education aligned with workforce needs.Dr. Schaffer earned her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Baker University in 2019 and is passionate about creating systems that connect students, schools, and industry to ensure graduates leave high school with clear pathways to college, career, and life success.
